Terms of Service

These terms cover website design, hosting and related services provided by Front Door Studio, a sole proprietorship operated by JD Harmelin in Bloomington, Indiana ("I", "me"). By paying an invoice or starting a plan, you ("the client") agree to them.

Services

I design and build websites for small businesses, host them, and make updates under the monthly care plan. The scope of each project (pages, features, add-ons) is agreed in writing before work starts. Work outside that scope is quoted separately.

Concept builds

I may create concept versions of a business's website before that business is a client. Concepts are shown for evaluation only. Nothing is owed unless the business chooses to launch.

Payment

The launch fee is due when you approve your site for launch and must be paid before it goes live. Care plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars.

Your content

You keep ownership of your business name, logos, photos and text, and you confirm you have the right to use anything you send me. I may show your finished site in my portfolio unless you ask me not to.

Hosting and availability

I work to keep sites online and secure but can't guarantee uninterrupted service, since hosting depends on third-party providers.

Cancellation

You can cancel the care plan anytime. See the refund and cancellation policy. When you cancel, I'll provide your site files on request.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, my total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the three months before the claim.
